Research Methods Advisory Panel

GFEMS leverages global networks to ensure our evidence and learning activities are rigorous and designed for maximum effectiveness.

Research Methods Advisory Panel

Share

In support of the Global Fund’s research endeavors and given the unique challenges associated with measuring hidden and vulnerable populations, GFEMS has convened a Research Methods Advisory Panel (RMAP). Panelists lend their expertise through periodic review and feedback on the Fund’s proposed prevalence estimation research designs, survey instruments, data analysis plans, and preliminary findings.

The RMAP provides independent, impartial, transparent peer review of proposed research methods and draft research reports on the basis of conceptual framing, appropriateness, cultural sensitivity, validity, reliability, and cogency. Such feedback from an interdisciplinary group of experts is critical to the refinement and relevance of GFEMS research products.
